Updo Hairstyles: Plan Ahead If You Don’t Have A Fairy Godmother
What do Cinderella, Eliza Doolittle, and Gigi all have in common? When they went out with Prince Charming, Henry Higgins, and Gaston Lachaille they wore exquisite gowns, and their hair was piled high on their head with jeweled adornments. You could not help but notice how beautifully their hair was styled to match the magic of the night and their ball gowns. Fairytale nights, evening gowns, and updo hairstyles just seem to go together. These hairstyles paint a picture of elegance and femininity.
Your hair can be styled in an updo if it is short, medium, or long. If your hair is short, the stylist will probably style your hair with as many curls and waves as possible and pin it back towards the center. As it bunches together, it will look very pretty. Extensions can be added to short hair as well. If you have medium or long hair, the variations on an updo are almost endless. You can wear your hair completely up, or only partially up with loose curls hanging down.
You can pull it back and wear it in a simple chignon with flowers or beads. If your hair is very long, you can twist it, braid it, loop it, and weave flowers or jewels among the twists and turns. Any of these updos can be crowned with a tiara to make you look like a princess.
Unless you have a fairy godmother, you should be sure your updo is easy to keep in place throughout the special evening. It is smart to visit a hairstylist in advance in order to get some advice and help. Most updos are not easy to do yourself. Since you cannot wave a magic wand if it starts falling down, be sure you have tried this updo ahead of time and worn it for a few hours through a day.
As beautiful as an artistic looking updo can be, if it is too intricate and difficult to keep each strand in place, your dream evening could turn into a depressing nightmare. Try to keep it beautiful and simple all at the same time…that is the magic of a terrific looking updo.
